Happy New Year from Bamako, Mali West Africa.

Generator is running since 9pm last night and now it is going on 8am.....I was outside the moment electricity went out, and it was just black. Without electricity, you have nothing!
Could it be an omen?
However, by midnight, the sky was filled with fireworks in my district. This year no gun shots, just noise from the light show.
What a contrast, total complete darkness and then a fab light show (quite modest compared to the major cities).
So that was my New Year celebration from Africa.

No matter who we voted for... no matter what we feel... let's agree that in 2009 this country and all the citizens need to UNITE in good wishes for all our Lawmakers as well as ourselves. If we think positively, we can make this a better year than it would normally be. Let's DO it! Happy 2009, everyone!

Today, January 4, 2009, marks six Wonderful years since I first joined the crew of this gallant vessel at a time period when so many other genuinely Fantastic Pirates joined as well. We have been through calm seas and extremely stormy ones together and shared great happiness and profound sadness along the way and I am truly honored to serve with all of you. Our as yet unfinished and mystical journey with destiny continues.

For me, it was six years on Christmas Day.

there's still alot of old timers over here, I've been of and on the ship over the last 8 years and always enjoy catching up with what's going on.
