I hear ya, Dude! IMHO, Classic Art next to Contemporary C2C is like comparing ice cream to horse manure.

As long as the local station does not block tonights SIT with a ball game this will be interesting to listen to and hear how many of the predictions came true.

Even if none, back then we were on the edge of our seat, bed or where ever watching and waiting for what ever to happen.

Got to admit, Art was the master of the night and kept many of us working nights wide awake.

Good plan! So what Y2K wasn't the disaster it was cracked up to be? Hey, preparedness still applies regardless of world's end scenario.

Cyberterrorism. Climate disruption. Economic collapse. Packers not beating the Seahawks. Just to name a few. Pick yer doomsday folks!

Y2K was not the disaster because engineers like myself and may others heard Art and then started looking and found the problems in the systems that could cause what was being talked about.

I know we all prepared just in case and then spent many, many hours patching software and upgrading equipment then 'manned' critical areas just in case.

Yes, there were some failures but people were there to make the manual corrections to the systems so to the general public it seemed nothing happened. The people working int he background for the couple years before and when the clock turned over never seemed to make the news.

So thank you Art for sounding the alarm that got us awake or we may have been listening to you in the dark.

And yes, being prepared still applies. As Art mentioned on that old program, even the weather disasters cause disruption and being prepared, which seems a lot never do, sure helps when it all hits.
