SETICruncher: Your eyes do not deceive you:D Someone gave me full control over the BOINC/SETI@home stats page so now I have access to the e-mail addresses and other management functions...like trimming the inactive user base and modifying the pictures and links at the top of the page. I also made us...

BBC Climate Change Experiment

There is a new project... from Berkeley's site: "February 14, 2006 BOINC and Climateprediction.net have joined forces with the BBC to launch a new experiment, a full simulation of climate change from 1920 to 2080, described on a BBC television documentary Meltdown (BBC-4, February 20th, for UK ...

I think it was near about #8 with Classic SETI@home at one point and #12 is the lowest I've seen us go. But, then again, with BOINC, if you click on Total Credit to sort that way we're even lower:( This Recent Average Credit is just the wrong way to go about it. Total Credit should be all there is.

I'm at a loss on the video card issue. I assume you've tried downloading a driver from the manufacturer's site. I hope someone here can help...and I'll keep looking.

It would be pretty simple to pull off that much credit. All he would need would be a middle to large size company or maybe he's the SysAdmin at a University. As long as he gets permission to do it he's okay. It's a shame though. We have a couple owners of companies here but not nearly enough compute...

Not sure how productive it will be no matter what you put on it. You'll have to run a few workunits on it to decide.

I would go with Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger). It's great!:D Very easy to install.

I talked with David Anderson about this subject way back when BOINC was in early beta. He said that after BOINC went public and after SETI@home Classic was shut down totally that they would give a reasonable amount of time for the transferred membership to participate. I think he said 6 months. If t...

Ahh:eek: Windows 98SE:eek: Okay, when you installed the additional RAM what happened? Did it boot into Windows at all? If so, did you look at the specs to see how much RAM your computer found? As for the shlwapi.dll error message...what happens? When do you see this error message? After trying to op...

Yes, you can re-enable this but Microsoft has a patch now which will fix the problem. They really surprised everyone with how fast they reacted. You can get the patch by visiting Windows Update

You need an image editing program like Photoshop or the one that comes with
Windows...Microsoft Paint and just reduce the size. There are some free online tools that you can do this with but I don't have the links with me here at work.

It's the DEL key then. I just looked up the manual for that motherboard. There should be a message on the screen that says press DEL to enter Setup somewhere in the boot process. Just after the POST but before the Windows screen comes up. But to be sure...just keep tapping rapidly the DEL button fro...
