This is true...and it's very unusual for a right-wing state like Kentucky for the Democratic primary to have more voters.

By the way...there is no such thing as the Democrat Party.

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice how great Art sounds. He sounded healthier and in better spirits than he has in many years. Maybe it's the time off, and maybe it's because he finally quit smoking. I did not know he was an Obama supporter. In his old political days, he was quite right-wing, ...

Palin Family Values

Elizabeth Schulte explains that, beneath their family values rhetoric, Sarah Palin and the Republicans care very little for women and their children. September 4, 2008 The Palins and the McCains poses for photos before Sarah Palin's announcement as McCain's running mate THE TIMING couldn't have been...

Art never missed "Ghost to Ghost," even in the worst of times. His apparent decision to skip it this year makes me very suspicious he's leaving the show permanently. If he also skips New Year's, then we can be certain he's gone. But, he never fails to surpise. I'm sure he'll post an explanation for ...

In this idea, your ballot would automatically ask you to make a first and second choice. Actually, if there were, for example, 5 candidates on the ballot, you could just number them 1 to 5 in order of your preference.

Instant Run-Off Voting Can Help Independants

We have a 2-party system that is not constitutionally mandated, but that evolved as a natural and functional effect of our type of government. Multi-Party systems can exist in Parliamentary systems, but not in our "seperation of powers" system. But, I've been hearing about a plan that could make it ...

I would not favor a gas tax suspension. I think Federal tax is about .18 per gallon, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you put 10 gallons in your car, the tax suspension won't even save you $2, and with the road infrastructure crumbling, especially bridges, this isn't the time.

Gas is still higher in the west. The lowest I've seen so far in Reno is $3.87. My car requires premium, so the lowest I can find here is $4.09.

Gas prices should continue to fall until 11/4, and then should inexplicably rise beginning 11/5.

Excellent post, Kaztronic! I would also usually vote for Candidate A, since a vote for C is really a vote for B. But you're right...in a blowout, with Candidate A way in the lead, giving C a bit of morale support ain't a bad thing!

Your Voting Dilemna and Civics Lesson

Let us assume there are 3 candidates on your ballot in November. There will be more, but for the sake of this exercise, 3 works fine. Candidate A is a major party candidate that you agree with 75 to 80% of the time. He or she has had to make some disappointing compromises that distress you. At one t...

Not to sound cynical, but with the election approaching and the Repubican ties to big oil, I think we can expect to see gas prices continue to drop for the next few months.

I just hope the sheeple see through it.

Charlie Wilson's War

This is a great movie starring Tom Hanks as Texas Congressman Charlie Wilson. Wilson was an admitted proud hedonist who became a hero to many by urging Congress in the late 70's through the 80's to increase spending to support the Afghani Freedom Fighter's efforts to drive the Soviets from Afghanist...

IMO, it does not matter that she is no longer a threat to society. She was convicted of participating in another human being's murder. Coldblooded, calculated, senseless murder. Many murderers eventually go free. Some have "Life Without Parole," and some don't. Susan Atkins does not, but that's mor...
