I am wondering, for those who cannot possibly rebuild in the city, will they also be allowed to build elsewhere, assuming that their own homes were properly insured? Is insurance in any way transferable to any other lot/location? Well, I'm wondering if exceptions may be provided, since so many in t...

As far as the reports of violence go, I think it's a combination of government officials who are trying to rewrite history to make it appear as though things weren't really that bad and activist groups who are trying to place the blame for the generally poor economic conditions in the city on the go...

It was pretty simple; just a bucket with a shovelful of dirt in it. When its purposed had been fulfilled, just tip everything into a trash bag. I prefer the good old American Standard commode and a few magazines, but after a few days the bucket was fairly comfortable. Cherry, my regular gig is writi...

One other thing that just popped into my mind: I'm a writer, and the Saturday before the storm I had been invited to several media functions; the first being a "Breakfast with Boortz" featuring talk show host Neal Boortz. He gave a little speech after the breakfast, but cut it short to cat...

There will be plenty of blame to go around, but I don't think anyone was or could have been prepared for the scope of what happened. We left St. Bernard the day before the storm and rode in out in Covington, La on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain. We got plenty of wind damage but no flooding. Th...

Brown is welcome to drop by my house in St. Bernard Parish for lunch any time. Here's a picture of my living room. The ceiling fan says it all.

There are several java shortwave receivers on the net. Before Art was back on the weekends several of us would listen to him on Jim and Leah's site.

Although this piece has been attributed to Carlin, Ted Nugent, Andy Rooney and several others, the origin is unknown and it has been around for several years in one form or another. It usually appears as an email chain letter.

I heard Drudge mention this also. He basically said that he heard that Art Bell was coming back with a show that would only be on XM. He said he was trying to reach Art but hadn't heard back from him. That's all he said. Actually, I sent Art an email once before the last time he came back, suggestin...

Re: swimmbadd and hitchhiker

Hitchhiker you seem so convinced yet by your comments you didn't seem to listen to Art for years. There is a subtleness about Art that maybe you didn't get when you listened to him. I listened to Art from when he was on 90 stations until he retired. I was listening the night that he first announced...

Art won't be back on anything more than a substitute basis. Unfortunately, the glory days are gone. I'm glad I got to experience a bit of it, but I just can't see it happening again.

How about an agreed-upon meeting time and frequency, just to see it we can hit it on 10 meters? Maybe Friday or Saturday.
