The 12v dc mod is interesting, Tracker 3 ;) I didn't know these pcs put out that much power. Yeah go figure that a blow dryer for your hair is what 1500 watts? Shesh my fastest most powerful pc is only 550W. Maybe it just takes longer for you to actually light the cigarette. Beats me! I got s...

Oh and one more mod post. Now I have seen it all. A cigarette lighter for your pc mod... http://www.thinkgeek.com/pcmods/cables/61fd/ Not that I endorse smoking but er...I couldn't believe this when I saw it and am posting it out of humor. I have never done business from these people either and in n...

Tab the uv light isn't very bright visibly but depending on if you have uv sensitive materials in the case it does a nice job of lighting up those materials when in a 6" proximity to it. However the cold cathode florescent light kits really do a bang up job on visibility and distance for the uv...

Thanks Tab. I will get shots of my Kids pc's on Christmas day because that is when I plan to unviel them to my little rascals all properly decked out. Like I said before though it really isn't anything to look in comparison to Linnea's. But if you would want to consider adding some inexpensive mods ...

Interesting that you've modded your PC. I am modding my kids PC's right now. Looks awesome. The entirely acrylic tower is quite impressive. So far my modest approach to theirs is a plexiglass window on the side with neon fans and ultra high intensity UV led's to activate the uv reactive cables. I ma...

Thank you Linnea that was very complimentary. I very much appreciate being apart of this group and am very glad to be involved here. I have Doug to thank for that since he recruited me when I first joined SETI@home. Whether you have one computer or thirty it only takes one WU with the right signal. ...

All I can say is WoW. The Human mind is always amazing. When it lacks sufficient definatives it provides a wealth of alternative ponderances. Clearly an asset to the species. An amazing collective and what a dance of collaboration considering that each Human is 4 trillion plus individuals working to...

Hey guys, Good to drop in. I've been around (lurking) but hardly any activity here in a while. Doug - - Killer PC. You sure are nailing the wu's and congrats for it. A personal note: I am modding a special server for me and the kids at home. I have 4 machines in my house now with enough spare parts ...

18 as of the moment. Most are older PC's though but that new server is eating work units alive at night! (about 1 every couple of hours) It slows down during the day though to about 3-4 hrs a unit though (probably due to the user traffic). I need to reroute some of the workload over to the old serve...

Dale, yeah I have known about the observatory since I was a kid in high school (a decade ago). I knew it was big, but that part of the article really lets you know exactly HOW BIG. I was impressed with that part of the article as well because it really puts the size into prospective for me also.

Thanks mark,

That allen array is an impressive site. Has anyone seen anything yet on the release date for the seti 8 bit data crunching program to handle that new data stream?

The most vivd dream I have ever had was one in which I dreamed it in color. I usually don't really remember the color in my dreams but this one stood out and shocked me to my core. I was standing under an apple tree and it was a warm fall day about around mid afternoon as I recall the yellowness of ...
