Dreamland was originally called Area 2000. It was on for 3 hours on Sunday nights, and that's when C2C was still a current events, politically oriented program.

The name changed to Dreamland in the mid-90s.

If there is one thing definite about Art, it is that he LOVES stirring the pot.

Originally, Art's closing music was a track from one of Cusco's CDs - I believe it was from Apuramac I. A long time ago, he played an awful lot of of Cusco's stuff. Cusco is a group who does "New Age" music. They are, as I recall, a German group and they were influenced by ancient Mayan an...

The other thing that I think we have to keep in mind is the stress factor of doing a 4-5 hour program the way Art does his shows. He's a "one-man" operation - does everything himself. He has to watch the clock for commercial times, breaks, monitor phone lines, fast blasts, etc. Yes, maybe ...

Vert, unless you are a licensed amateur radio operator, you will not able to talk on the radio - only listen. It's amazing, however, the number of people who start out just listening, and become motivated to study and get their license so they can join in on the fun. In most cities, there are HAM cl...

Art's call sign is W6OBB (old broken back). As for Orv, he is not on and will not go to 3840 - by his own choosing. There are probably about six or seven regulars on 3840, and some nights, there's a bunch more. In addition to W6OBB, you'll hear KD7BCW, KD7KAU, W7PD, KI6GU, WA7JL, occasionally KC0HLX...

To all you good pirates who want to listen to Art and his HAM buddies, here's a little info that might be of help to you. First, Art does not run 2500 watts, as that is quite illegal. The maximum LEGAL output power for amateur radio operators is 1500 watts PEP (Peak Envelope Power). There are only a...

Just a few personal thoughts about Art's retiring. Though I hate to see him leave C2C, I know it's in his and Ramona's best interest. For well over a year now, you could hear the tension in his voice on the program, and I'm certain that the stresses from doing the program had a very negative impact ...

About 10 years ago, we had a local only, late-night talk radio program called The Middle of the Damned Night Show. It dealt with the weird, and somewhat paranormal. I always thought the name was catchy and not one easily forgotten. Since Art is definitely a creature of the night, and not likely to c...

Just to let you all know - you will no longer find Art on 3830. He and his friends have moved their home to 3840 for QSOs (conversations), and 3845 for SSTV (Slow Scan TV). You will find them all there every night from about 12:30 am Pacific Time until everybody falls asleep - somewhere between 3:00...
